The hotel’s location is perfect for discovering the beautiful coastline of Dorset with miles of golden beaches, the Jurassic Coast and further afield into the New Forest.

We will help you to plan the itinerary for your holiday – we have recommended walks and we can provide you with maps of the area. We have a huge amount of local information and the support of local walking experts to consult if you ask us something we don’t know.
During your stay
To cater for the needs of walkers and cyclists staying with us we are pleased to offer:
An outside tap to wash muddy walking boots Dry storage for your walking boots or bikes A drying room for outdoor clothing in the unlikely event of bad weather Complimentary filling of thermos flasks at breakfast The hotel can be used as your emergency contact point should you need us for any reason so there is always someone at the end of the phone! Advice on places of interest, recommendations on where to eat, car parking and a library of information which includes maps, books, timetables for the trains and buses and as well as the all important weather forecast! We can recommend cycle hire suppliers in Bournemouth and the New Forest. Cycle hire is available for your entire holiday or just for the day.

We can provide advice on local public transport routes and timetables. We can also help with arranging quotes for one-way transport (for example a private mini-bus transfer).

The Area
The Dorset and East Devon coastline has become a World Natural Heritage Site due to its outstanding geology.
The Purbeck peninsula is the start of the ‘Jurassic Coast’ and the coastal path and ridgeway trails give the opportunity to enjoy the most spectacular scenery including rugged sea cliffs, headlands, sea stacks, natural arches, rocky coves and sandy beaches.
Bournemouth is a gateway to access the best that this coastline has to offer.

Long Weekend (Friday to Monday)
Friday afternoon: Bournemouth Gardens, West Cliff and the Chines
Saturday: Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door
Sunday: Southbourne, Hengistbury Head, Mudeford and Christchurch
Monday morning: Sandbanks & Poole Harbour
5 night break (Sunday to Friday)
Sunday afternoon: Bournemouth Gardens, West Cliff and the Chines
Monday: Southbourne, Hengistbury Head, Mudeford & Christchurch (market day)
Tuesday: Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door
Wednesday: Dorchester (market day)
Thursday: Sandbanks, Studland, Swanage and Corfe Castle
Friday: Brockenhurst and the New Forest – either on the way home if you are travelling by car or a half day trip returning to Bournemouth.
